Bunions
A bunion is a bony bump on the inside of the foot at the base of the big toe. It forms as the big toe gradually angles towards the second toe and the joint moves out of line. Bunions often run in families, and tight, narrow or high-heeled shoes can make them worse. Not all bunions hurt, but they can cause pain, redness and stiffness at the joint, and make it hard to find comfortable shoes. This guide explains why bunions develop, how they’re treated without surgery, and when surgery may be considered. Our insoles for bunions support the arch to reduce the strain on the big-toe joint.
